Parts of the Grade 2 listed main farm building are more than 300 years old and the Swarkestone Bridge and causeway (Grade 1 listed national monument) were built in the 14th Century. Swarkestone was the furthermost point South reached by Charles Edward Stuart (Bonnie Prince Charlie) when he invaded England in 1745. We purchased Bridge Farm in 1986 and converted the stables around the back of the main yard into letting rooms. The large stable block to the side of the Grade 2 listed main building was made into a two bedroom bungalow and has recently been renovated to a very high standard. Two superb large executive suits were built onto the bungalow at the time of its renovation. The bungalow’s French doors and the windows of the two new suites look out onto a paved terrace, lawn and garden feature.
